		Motivated by a desire to provide a recognized agency for the accreditation of non-public schools, the Michigan Association of Non-public Schools Board of Directors joined with other states to form the National Federation of State Non-public school Accrediting Association. The Michigan Non-public School accrediting association accreditation is available to any non-public school in the State of Michigan. The guiding principles for accreditation are that a school is judged, as far as possible, in terms of its own philosophy/mission statement. The school's Accreditation will be based on a school's ability to demonstrate adherence to certain standards or conditions that provide for quality education. The standards are conducive to educational growth and are guides for continuous school improvement. St. Lawrence School was initially accredited with the Michigan Non-public Schools Accreditation Association in May of 1991 and has maintained accreditation since.
