Pastoral Staff
Fr. Bob Fisher
Father Bob Fisher, Pastor
Fr. Bob Fisher graduated from Sacred Heart Seminary in 1992, was ordained and assigned
to Our Lady of the Sea parish. He then served in the vocations office from 1995 until July 2000.
Fr. Bob became pastor of St. Angela's in Roseville until moving to St. Lawrence Parish in
July 2003.

Father Don LaCuesta, Associate Pastor

Father Don graduated from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in April 2006 and was ordained
for the Archdiocese of Detroit on June 3 rd of the same year. He obtained his B.A. degree in
Philosophy in the Philippines where he grew up and did his theological studies in Brazil.
He began his first parish assignment at St. Lawrence on July 1 st, 2006. The Associate Pastor
exercises a level of responsibility as designated by the Pastor for the spiritual, liturgical, social,
formative, educational and administrative aspects of parish life.



Sister Janet Sullivan,
Pastoral Associate

Sister Janet has been the Pastoral Associate at St. Lawrence Community since 1988. As pastoral associate her ministry is one of collaboration with our pastor and associate pastor as well as the pastoral staff in serving St. Lawrence Catholic Community. Sister Janet's areas of service include:
  • Planning and coordinating the RCIA process for those interested in learning about the Catholic church and Catholic beliefs
  • Conducting Vigil Service for deceased
  • Visiting the sick and homebound in a spirit of prayer and concern
  • Coordinating the Baptism of Children Program
  • Liaison for the Worship Commission and the ART Environment Committee

    Deacon Tony Morici Deacon Tony Morici
    Deacon Tony Morici was ordained in 1987. He was assigned to St. Jane Frances for six years and the St. Louise for over seven years. Deacon Tony has been assigned to St. Lawrence since May of 2001. Deacon Tony has an A.A. degree in Ministry from Sacred Heart Seminary, a B.A. degree in pastoral Ministries from Madonna University and an M.B.A degree in Church Management from the Graduate Theological Foundation. In addition, Deacon Tony also serves as a part-time Pastoral Associate at St. Lawrence.

    Mary Paonessa Mary Paonessa,
    Continuing Religious Education

    Mary Paonessa, director of Religious Education has over 20 years experience in the field and enjoys the challenge of working with the school and after-school religion programs. There are approximately 800 children and 30 teachers in St. Lawrence school and nearly 870 children and 70 catechists in the CRE (continuing religious education) program. Besides overseeing the religion program for the children, it is Mary's responsibility to encourage catechist certification for those who teach religion and then track their progress.     Marilyn Trumper-Samra
    Youth Minister

    Marilyn Trumper-Samra has been working in youth ministry part-time since 1995. Marilyn capped a 25-year career as a newspaper reporter to joyfully join full-time the staff at St. Lawrence in 2005. Marilyn also serves as the Adult Faith Formation Coordinator. Marilyn is a graduate of Oakland University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, and is currently enrolled in graduate school at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, where she is pursuing a Master's Degree in Pastoral Ministry.

    Karen Pawlak Karen Pawlak,
    St. Lawrence School Principal

    Mrs. Karen Pawlak is the K-8 school principal. Mrs. Pawlak earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from the University of Detroit. Presently, Mrs. Pawlak is the co-chairperson of the Archdiocese of Detroit Superintendent's Advisory Council. Her responsibilities include the educational and spritiual growth of the students at St. Lawrence School.

    Nancy Pariseau Mrs. Nancy Pariseau, Christian Service
    Nancy Pariseau has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Oakland University, and full certification with the Archdiocese of Detroit. As the coordinator of the Christian Services program, Nancy's responsibilities include a broad area of outreach and social concerns within and outside St. Lawrence boundaries. Her ministry calls for attending to the needs of outreach concerns and basic human needs.

    Paul Fischer Paul Fischer, Music Director
    Mr. Paul Fischer has been the music director for St. Lawrence for over ten years. He grew up in St. Raymond parish in Detroit. He served as full time music director for over 25 years in the Archdiocese of Detroit.
