Dear Parents/Guardians of children in grades 6, 7 & 8,

I am writing to you at this time to make you aware of the human sexuality program God’s Own Making that will be presented to children in grades 6, 7 & 8 in the C.R.E. program. As in previous years, the video portion of this program will remain the same and we will continue to present the video to the children at the sixth grade level.
Three sessions will be presented in class on these dates:  (please keep this schedule for future reference)
            Grade 6:                                                         Grades 7 & 8:
Feb. 1/2 - Session 1                                                     Feb. 2 – Session 1
Feb. 9 – Video Session (no CRE class)                       Feb. 8 – Session 2

If you would like to preview any of the materials used in the God’s Own Making program, we welcome you to stop in the C.R.E. office.
 An Orientation Meeting and video preview for PARENTS of 6th graders is Thursday, January 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Social Hall.  The video will be presented to the 6th grade CHILDREN on Tuesday, February 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m..  This session will replace regular religious education classes for the week of February 8/9th for 6TH GRADE only.

We are required to have parent or legal guardian signatures giving permission for the children to attend or not attend the human sexuality program.  So, after prayerful consideration, please complete the form below and return it to your child’s Catechist or to the CRE office NO LATER THAN JANUARY 26TH.  Please read the form carefully.  Every child must submit a signed form WHETHER OR NOT they will be attending.  We will NOT accept permission slips the days of the sessions.

GOD’S OWN MAKING – HUMAN SEXUALITY PROGRAM
Instruction on the Church’s teachings and Catholic values will begin in February, 2010 for grades 6 through 8.  The program is entitled God’s Own Making and is published through the Sadlier Publishing Company.
Please check off the appropriate box and sign below to indicate your awareness of this program.  Return this completed form to your child’s catechist or to the CRE office no later than January 26th.
